Blarney House was built in 1874 by George Colthurst of Ardrum near Inniscarra for his wife.
It was built in the Scots Baronial style, based on designs by Sir Thomas Lanyon of Belfast and is open to the public but only in the summer months. We had a nice view walking up which was disturbed when we got close enough to take pictures by the arrival of a grounds keeper truck which they parked in front before walking around back to work, sigh.
